Born in 1943, he directed his first animated film Trois inventeurs, Les(1980). He directed many animation film such as Kirikou and the Sorceress(1998), Prince and Princess(1999), Kirikou, Kirikou(2005), Azur And Asmar(2006), Tales Of The Night(2011). Kirikou and the Sorceress won the Grand Prize for Best Feature Film at Annecy. In 2015, he got the Lifetime Achievement Award at the World Festival of Animated Film.
