Review

A comedy film set in the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters, University of Buenos Aires: the university buildings for various faculties are all scattered around the city. The Faculty of Philosophy and Letters is on Puán Street, so people refer to the school as Puán. The prestigious university has an excellent reputation, but how it operates and how professors deal with problems are not very different from what we do every day in Korea. In the film, certain scenes looked fictional, especially the ones showing students' complaints and calls for change; now, it has turned into a reality due to the economic and political crisis that Argentina is currently facing. PUAN put up solid box office numbers in Argentina and received positive reviews. It is a new co-directorial project by María Alché, who participated in the 20th edition of JEONJU IFF with A Family Submerged (2018), and Benjamín Naishtat, who won the Grand Prize of International Competition section of 15th JEONJU IFF for History of Fear (2014) participated in JEONJU Cinema Project 2015 for El Movimiento.
