Review

In Europe, where car racing is a popular sport, many children dream of becoming car racers and their first step is kart racing. Although we know it as a game or a ride in amusement parks, European kart racing is a legitimate sport conducted according to the same rules as adult competitions. This documentary about kart racing in Poland features two children and their parents. Mateusz, who comes from a wealthy family, has been practicing for years with dedicated coaches and advanced equipment, but he is unable to meet his parents' expectations and ambitions. Meanwhile, Zosia, whose father is in prison, does not have much support but shows great talent and gets good grades. The kart racing scenes, full of tension and excitement, are like watching Formula 1, but this is not a sports documentary that simply introduces a particular sport, but rather a film that raises many questions about home education, family relationships, dreams, and talents.
