If one person composed music of various genres, from Leopard of Kilimanjaro, Café Of The Winter, Q, Song of Sang-A, White Magnolia, Ta Ta Ta, Maze of Love, Nostalgia, etc, and even the musical The Last Empress, would you believe it? Words from the Wind is a documentary about the composer Kim Hee-gap. Entering the age of 80 this year, his start was playing guitar on the stage of the U.S. military in his second year of high school when the Korean War was nearing its end. His career as a composer began in the late 1960s by producing the album of the rock band Key Boys. For over 50 years, he has left a vast number of pieces, more than 3,000 songs, about 400 of which were also the lyrics written by his wife Yang In-ja. Although Kim Hee-gap is now spending the last chapter of his life in a hospital bed, sadly, his masterpieces will continue throughout history. (CHUN Jinsu)
