Review

When Trine receives the invitation to participate in a trumpet audition at the Oslo Opera House, she’s delighted thinking her talent is being recognized. However, this 18-year-old environmentalist lives in Lofoten Islands, 1,500km away from Oslo, and she only has 5 days to get there. Like her mom says, it’d only take a few hours with a flight, but she refuses to take a plane. Following her own set of principles, she decides to hitchhike to Oslo. Hitchhiking is unpredictable, and she has to prepare for her audition on top of it. Throughout her journey to Oslo, Trine’s passion for music and her beliefs are tested. Trumpet player Kornelia Melsæter impressively performs the defiant and passionate Trine who listens closely to her heart while also executing all the trumpet pieces including Piazzolla’s “Oblivion”.
