Born in the Netherlands in 1951. Moved to Austrailia at the age of 8 and graduated from Austrailian Film, Television and Radio School in Sydney. After made his directional debut in 1984, he directed 12 feature films and is also the producer and scenario writer of over 10 feature films. [#i_]Bad Boy Bubby[_i#](1993) won the Grand Special Jury Prize in Venice Film Festival 1993. He is currently one of the most famous directors in Austrailia.
