Overview

At an early age, Jang-ha learned from the death of his grandmother that once people pass away, you cannot meet them again. This coming-of-age film examines the memories of life and death Jang-ha collects as he grows up.

Review

No one gets used to death, even if we become adults. Before his father's death, Jang-ha recalls many memories of his father, who perhaps lacked the skills to show and express his love. Images of cars speeding on the road and the images of his fragmented memories blend together, evoking the melancholic emotion about humans who are powerless in front of the passing time. You can meet the young selves of actor Kim Sang-joong and director Hur Jinho. (KIM Yoonbeom)

He majored in directing at KAFA (12th graduate class). He made his feature debut with Springtime (2004). He has directed films including Hello Schoolgirl (2008), The Pension (2017), Listen to Your Heart, The Beautiful Mind (2018). The Art of Love is his short film.
