Review

CLEAR is a film directed by Shim Hyeongjun, the director of the documentary My Dearest Fu Bao (2024), starring singer-actor Kim Pureum. It's a docu-fiction, a combination of a documentary and a fiction film. Fuji Film, international environmental organization Greenpeace International, and OhBoy! Magazine, a magazine that covers stories on the future of earth and how to coexist with animals, got together to produce the film. Because of this, CLEAR emphasizes the value of the environment. The film is split into two parts. The first part is a documentary which follows Kim Pureum as she boards Greenpeace's environmental watch ship, Rainbow Warrior, and meets activists from various countries. In the second part, the space's ecosystem gets damaged, and an alien (Lee Zooyoung from Missing Yoon (2002) among others) who eats plastic comes to earth as a means to survive. It paradoxically shows the dangers of the global environment. All the scenes in this film were shot on Fujifilm camera. (MOON Seok)
