Elements that form memories include smells and sounds, but ultimately, the memories that are evoked are mainly time and space. It is based on the sense of the season at the time, clothing, the color of the sky, and the background of the moment when the incident occurred. The reason these memories are so precious to us is because they hold life stories. Film is the art closest to memory in that it tells a story through time and space. MIMANG depicts the relationship between a woman and a man who meet by chance at some point in their lives. The places where they meet, walk, and part ways are mainly Euljiro and Gwanghwamun, which are in the center of Seoul and store the oldest things and make them their livelihood. The characters repeat stories about the city's symbolic statues and buildings. However, what they point to is not history itself, but the memories and strange emotions formed through the stories, and such personal memories add color to the dry city. Started as a short film, there were difficulties in completing the film little by little over four years due to various circumstances, but the presence of naturally accumulated time added to the weight of the film.
