Review

Two worlds coexist in this film. In one world, 150 radical activists living in rural France survived police suppression to resist the expansion of an international airport successfully. In the other world, filmmakers Ben Russell and Guillaume Cailleau record the everyday lives and activities of the former. The film goes beyond the conventions and expectations of documentaries. It remains calm and careful while observing the life of the community. It does not go on to explain what the audience would watch, nor does it speak for the protestors. The story seems to have ended due to police violence while the film goes on, suggesting that every moment is part of an ongoing fight and process. The beautiful images around the end of this film present the audience with a different kind of beauty—the community's struggle for a better world.

* There is an intermission in the middle of the film, although the film continues—just like our lives. (Sung MOON)
