Review

Out of My Intention is a minimalist film that tells a story with only two characters. The first scene, showing repeated blurring of the screen from a driver’s point of view, as well as the overall story structure, show attempts at experimentation. The story is simple, in that a man, played by Lee Dae-yeon, is tormented by the image of his ex-girlfriend, OK-kyeong (Cho An), which keeps coming to mind while driving somewhere, to a point where, eventually, he turns the car around to head towards her house. This might suggest the couple are not that compatible initially, but the doubt is resolved in the second half of the film. This story of a man deluded by a sudden image of his past leaves a tingling sensation for the viewer. (MOON Seok)
