Review

The type of directing that doesn't have a clear purpose and has dialogue that flows in an everyday way is charming but no longer fresh. In that context, Not alone doesn't feel daring or new. But as you watch the film until the end, you become persuaded as to why the writer made certain choices, which lead to landscapes and emotions that you end up dwelling on. Films like these that handle disability can easily fall into the trap of stereotypes, but this one approaches the subject with much thought. The film follows an individual with an acquired visual disability through their day, portraying their typical day in detail. Finally, the scene that depicts the darkness and devastation experienced by the character extends to embrace the surroundings is very heartfelt. The method of directing and the film's content may as well be considered a fantasy. However, that may just be one of the most important roles that this film can take on. In that context, this film seems to offer a new perspective on the world. (KIM Hyunjung)
