Overview
Mutual Films (Mariana Shellard and Aaron Cutler) invited Aurand in September 2022 with two programs of her films to Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. That occasion brought the director for the first time to Brasil. During these three weeks, she filmed To Brasil.

Review
At the invitation of a film festival, director Ute Aurand made her way to Brazil. Her 16mm camera provides a visual diary of her journey in short takes that also show the local landscape and fellow filmmakers. In a sort of dedication to the late Jonas Mekas, Aurand uses his methods to structure moments of beauty and happiness in Brazil through her lens. (Sung MOON)
