Review

This collection of short scenes was filmed by Chantal Akerman with an 8mm camera, as part of her application for film school. Akerman documented her daily life, featuring family and friends, in Brussels and the seaside resort town of Knokke-Heist, Belgium. Although brief, these recordings capture the excitement of someone enjoying the thrill of capturing moments on camera before filmmaking became her profession, heralding the birth of a cineaste.
